Joe started out in 1993 working in a night club back in Omaha, Ne. as a part time DJ before moving up and taking over full time. Since moving to Virginia in 1995 Joe worked at Blackies and Lulu’s in Springfield, VA and also at Nick’s Country Night Club before he set out to start his own DJ service and to bring his own style to events. Joe served his Country in the U.S. ARMY from 1991 to 1997 and has also served his community of Centreville, VA as a volunteer firefighter since 1997.

Craig started his DJ career over 20 years ago as a college radio host in 1989. Since then he has served as DJ and Emcee over a number of weddings and events. He brings a style that is great for whatever event he is working. Craig loves his music and is an alumni member of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, the largest music fraternity in America. WHY HIRE US?
When you reserve your date with Firedog Entertainment, you’re hiring more than just a DJ service. We strive to provide you with competent, talented, polite, well-dressed DJs for your special day. We provide your event with high-end sound equipment and take the necessary steps to not only ensure your timeline runs smoothly and flawlessly.
CAN YOU TELL ME YOUR RATES AND AVAILABILITY or CAN I GET A QUOTE?
Date, times and location can each affect your rate greatly! Surveys show that 80% of the success of your event will depend on your entertainment. So ask yourself – how much should you budget for something as important as your DJ? Quotes for weddings and other events vary depending on a variety of different factors. WHAT DO YOU REQUIRE FOR SETUP?
We only need a skirted 6 foot table with 2 chairs and a nearby outlet.
CAN YOU PROVIDE MUSIC FOR OUR WEDDING CEREMONY?
Yes. we can provide a system for music and a wireless microphone so your guests are able to hear and enjoy the ceremony.
HOW MANY SONGS I CAN PRE-SELECT?
Since many clients give us more songs than we have time to play, we limit your pre-selected requests to 30 songs during the dance time (roughly 2 hours of music). If you pick the maximum number of songs, your DJ will not be able to take requests or use their experience to gauge the crowd since this usually takes up all of the dance time. When creating a request list, please remember the number of songs you request greatly affects which DJ will be scheduled for your event. If a client provides a request list of more than 75% of dance portion of event, we take no responsibility for crowd response.
WILL YOU PLAY THE MUSIC I REQUEST?
We can play what you want and stay away from what you don’t want. You can create a list of “must plays”, “play if possible” and “do not plays” with our planning tools. Another option is to give us percentages of each genre on our event planning guide and let the DJ read the crowd and use their experience. Naturally, you can do a little of both too. Our online music library consists of the most requested songs and you are NOT limited to that list. We will be happy to play any music you decide to provide (preferably mp3 format prior to the day of the event).
WHAT IF WE HAVE VOLUME CONCERNS?
During cocktail hour, the volume of the music will be just loud enough to recognize, but not loud enough to make it difficult to talk to people. During dinner, we pay attention to how your guests are interacting and if they’re leaning in to speak to one another, we know to adjust the volume.
WHAT KIND OF EQUIPMENT DO YOU USE?
We use specially designed DJ software (Virtual DJ Pro) to perform for your event along with high end audio equipment (Bose or Mackie)
DO YOU TAKE BREAKS DURING THE EVENT? HOW DOES THAT WORK?
Our DJs never take any official breaks, no matter how long your event is. Should your DJ need to step away for a moment, he is trained to only do so only during the portions of the evening where his direct assistance is not needed (during dinner when no toasts are scheduled, etc.). Any time that your DJ is not at the DJ table; music will play continuously until he returns.
HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN IN BUSINESS?

CAN WE MEET OUR DJ / WHEN WILL OUR DJ BE SCHEDULED?
You can meet with your DJ before OR after you sign a contract. During our initial consultation we try to find out what kind of personality you are looking for and will match that to your event. We want to make sure that you and your DJ are a good fit.
WHAT ARE YOUR PAYMENT AND BOOKING TERMS?
In order to book our services, simply call and ask us to send you a contract. A signed copy must be returned with a $250 deposit within 5 days. Your balance is due 10 days before your event.You can meet with your DJ before OR after you sign a contract. During our initial consultation, we try to find out what kind of personality you are looking for and will match that to your event. We want to make sure that you and your DJ are a good fit.
DO YOU USE CD's or MP3?
MP3. There are pros and cons to using one or the other. MP3’s are great to use if you do not want to carry around all the CD’s and easier to manage. We do bring a second laptop and hard drive in case one or the other stops working; this prevents us from losing ALL of the music. MP3 can only be as good as it is ripped (copied) from the original CD and all of our music is at the highest level.
If you do not have one of our pre-requested songs, do you require that we provide it?
Before your event, we will run all of your pre-requested songs through our system. If by chance we don’t have one of your pre-requested songs, we will obtain it at no cost to you as long as it is commercially available.
WHAT KIND OF MUSIC DO YOU PLAY?
Firedog Entertainment boasts a music library of over 150,000 songs. We play popular music from the 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, and today. From Motown, Oldies, Classic Rock, and Country to Pop, Top 40, Reggae and Hip-Hop. We play a little bit for everybody and our DJ’s are always paying attention to the crowd. We’re very flexible and will always let the client ultimately decide what is played.
IS THERE A BACKUP PLAN IF MY DJ IS SICK ON THE DAY OF MY EVENT?
We pride ourselves on our reliability. As a small company, we have a DJ in reserve that is not scheduled this allows us a backup if something happens to your DJ, and our web-based information system makes it easy to transfer all the details of your wedding from one DJ to another.
WHAT IS YOU DJ STYLE?
We provide music for dinner and cocktails. Our team is trained to orchestrate incredible dance sets that seamlessly transition from song to song. Your DJ will always arrive wearing a suit with a tasteful, non-flashy neck tie. If requested, we are happy to wear a tuxedo for black tie events.
Our DJ’s are very comfortable on the microphone, and are often asked to do bridal party introductions, introductions for the welcome toast, toasts during dinner, the first dance, etc. Aside from making such announcements and introductions, our DJs will not be on the microphone.
WHAT DOES YOUR STANDARD WEDDING RECEPTION PACKAGE INCLUDE?
Our standard package assumes that we are only providing music services for the cocktail hour and/or wedding reception (dinner & dancing) in one room. Typically, this means 4 hours (reception only) or 5 hours (cocktails and reception). Your standard package includes speakers and a wireless microphone for up to 5 hours (in 1 room) with unlimited email or phone contacts, 2 in person consults, and some basic dance floor lighting (Indoors only)
